- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes for spice optional
Marinate the Beef: Toss sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce and sesame oil. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Sear the Beef: Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a wok over high heat. Sear beef for 2-3 minutes, then set aside.
Cook Vegetables: Add remaining oil to the wok. Stir-fry bell peppers, onion, and garlic for 3-4 minutes.
Prepare Sauce: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and black pepper. Pour into the wok.
Combine: Return beef to the wok and mix with vegetables. Add cornstarch slurry and stir until sauce thickens.
